Tewkesbury Mustard
This mustard isnt exceptionally hot or strongly flavoured despite the jot of horseradish, its more of a refined condiment for a good English cheese or a nice bit of sliced beef on freshly baked bread. Tewkesbury mustard doesnt leave an after taste that drowns out the flavour of your food and it will not sting your nose and make your eyes water like English mustard can.
Tewkesbury mustard was known to Shakespeare himself no less, stating that one of his characters was as thick as Tewkesbury mustard.
No self respecting kitchen of the 17th Century (1600's) would have been seen dead without. Over time production of the mustard ceased as its popularity fell however in 1971 Tewkesbury mustard re-entered commercial production and is now as popular as it ever was.
